Breathlessly - If tenacity works...

Claudia Faniello is well known as the "Queen of Trys". She celebrates her 10th time in Maltese National selection and this magical number made it possible for her to reach for the first time the title.
Her song Breathlessly was previously selected as the last starting number. She got the last place to start and maybe that was one reason why she won the show. In addition with this I have to add that the number was randomly drawn so she was the lucky one who got these "Golden Ticket".

Another boring ballad from a woman:
The Eurovision 2017 is so special. We are celebrating the year of ballads, celebrate it more or less!
Breathlessly sounds sweet and lovely and her voice listened as the same too but how boring could you make a song?! Seriously I cannot hear any Bridge or a beginning where I have to say that I would like to listen to it any longer. You are hearing the first notes and you start to fall asleep. There are the moments where you wait on something what could happen but nothing will do so.
Her voice is truely good but why you have not gave her a song where she could perform what she can and she is so good. The voice sounds soft, especially in the Chorus, but a charming voice does not guaranteed you a well place. Oh Malta, why not a power-ballad?!

The conclusion:
Honestly I am very disappointed about the Maltese choice because it is another ballad which will definitly no good chances to reach the final. The song is too powerless but on the other side filled with emotions. On the other hand again you have to quest: How successfull could a song be, if so many other heart pain ballads will compete?!
Furthermore Claudia Faniello, I like your way to represent yourself but..., got no personality on stage. I miss the real connection between singer and song. The vocal harmony is really good but you cannot feel everything if you cannot fell her connection. Sorry!
Malta will get many problems this year and I do not think that they could make it into the final. Only the juries can save her because a song from the first half like this on is not memorable. My favourite was Brooke with Unstoppable but I am not from Malta so be happy with your choice. That counts! And by the way, do not watch the National Final because I never have seen so many advertising in my life before...
