Timebelle - Apollo - ESC 2017 Switzerland / Song Review

Apollo - Typical Radio-Pop, nothing more!

Old system with more success?:

As it was typical for Switzerland in the last years, they used the "Entscheidungsshow" to select the candidate who is going to represent the country in Eurovision.
The winner of this years edition is the Band "Timebelle" with their song Apollo.
Strict Eurovision fans were knowing them from the selection process in 2015 where they were competing with their Single Singing about love but the lovely Popsong finished in second position directly behind Melanie Rene. Now they are the representers of Switzerland and we will see how successful they will be in Kyiv in May.

Where is the message?:

The song starts lovely and you get the impact of a shy touch when you are hearing it.
While the song is moving on, the development of the power is more worse than good because you only remember the "I will never let you go..." because it is one of the only "powerful" moments in a calm Popsong. It felts like you are going to fall asleep but then follows the moment of "I will never let you go.." and you wake up for a few more seconds.
There is no sound of risk in her voice and in the whole song, you might miss something like this. All parts of the Single are so predictable because in the end you know what will happen.
She goes down with her vocal range, we have a few quietr notes and then follows the BAM...more or less. It is good and I like it but the development of the song is so boring that I will not any longer then two minutes listen on it. I am sorry!

The conclusion:

As I have titled it on the second point but not really talked about it, I am missing the message. If anyone knows it then please tell me! The only "Apollo" I can remember is the Greek god and I am not sure if they are singing about him?!
Well, the song sounds lovely and good but where is something special. I got the problem that I think that this sounds more like an Interval-Act than a participant. Switzerland is searching so many songs but as it was my feeling in previous years, I would not like to say that this is definitely going through to the final. I miss the courage to take risk because what keeps this song, in comparison to the others, in mind, at this moment: nothing!
It is to predictable to like it as much as, e.g., the Finnish song.
They have got a good starting place in the second half and they might get the help of Germany and Austria but this is not enough for the final. I have something around the 13th place in the Semi-Final in my mind but we will see. Anyway, good luck for you Switzerland, you will definitely need it but I am thinking that the Jury might help you...
