Origo - Comeback of Romani
First time - first success:
The story of Joci Pápai, who was born in Tata, sounds like a fairytale of an old Hungarian book. Once upon a time there was a Roma-Hungarian singer who would like to represent his country at the amazing Eurovision Song Contest. There were so many other artist who knew how to win the preselection A Dal like Andras Kallay Saunders (2014 - Running) but our hero of the story beat them all and won the title.
Now he is going to represent his country at the competition and his dream is to win these one too but is he able to do this...
Maybe it is a bit too much of dreaming but remember: Everything at Eurovision is possible, no matter who or what you are!

Something between Mediterranean and tradition:
When I firstly listen to this song I thought "What is this?!" but every second of the Hungarian entry sounds so interesting that you will forget the thoughts of the beginning, believe me!
When he is singing these words in the beginning, which you probably cannot understand, you might quest why this song is from Hungary and not from Spain. There are these Mediterranean beat and the dancing girl which will push these feelings but anyway the song is singing on one part in Romani which is in the same language family like Spanish or Italian.
The song sounds a bit strange but if the Spanish beat starts to become boring, Joci Pápai shocks you with his Bridge which is rapped by himself! The whole production is so varied that it never becomes boring, for me! Really good songquality and harmony between singer and song!

The conclusion:
Honestly I have to start with the fact that I am very happy that we have got one Spanish sounding selection this year (*Yeah*) . The whole performance of him was so Mediterranean because of the beat and the Flamenco girl and his suits because, look: There stands a matador like he says in the book.
Anyway, I really like the Hungarian entry because it sounds so difficult but maybe this can become a problem for him because you have to feel everything. I hope that you know what I mean. Feeling the flow, going with the rhythym are only two examples if you would like to understand him. Probably the performance can become a bit more mysterious.
dark lights, only the girl and the boy who are standing in a circle of light and dance with each other, looking deep into each others eyes, oh, I felt the song too much ;-)
The first half in the Semi-Final is a difficult starting position but I am convinced that he can make it into the final but, to be honest, there he might finish not higher than 17, sorry.
The song is difficult for so many viewers but I hope I am not on the right way!
