Yodel it! - Something different but from the wrong country...

Romania is back, more or less... After the disappointment from last year, they buyed their money and in this way can come back to Eurovision.
The all-year show Selectia Nationala was used again to determine the artist/s who will represent the country of bats.
The winner was also the favorite of the showprocess, Yodel it! It is a very special song because Romania works with a cliché which is not something we are connecting with this country but, anyway, is it good enough to reach the final of Eurovision?

Hit the high notes baby!:
When I firstly listened to it, I noticed that obviously Ilinca got a more powerful voice than Alex Florea. Well, she needs it because of the Yodeling part but all in all I think that his voice is very average. Probably he is better in rapping or something else...
And the big problem is that the song cannot reach me, it is too confusing.
The beginning is very unexspected and direkt and personaly I did not like it at the first time.
In addition with this I think that the harmony between the singers and the song is very different. While Ilinca makes a safe impression, Alex looked like he is fighting with every note and obviously cannot enjoy the performance.
But, to finish with a good aspect, the Bridge gets an uptempo beat which the song definitly needed and gives the performance furthermore a bit more power but all in all it is not enough to be stunning!

All in all I am not sure what I should think about this entry so far. There was only a little stage with some smart performers who have not got a well harmony and a same level of singing.
While Ilinca stands there strong and hits the high notes very well, Alex gets obviously his problems and furthermore he seemed to be a bit overwhelmed by everything.
Anyway, they won their national preselection with more than twice as many calls than the runner-up which means that Romania definitly would like to be represented by these two.
To put it finally in a nutshell I do not think that this will be doing well in the semi-final. Look, it is Romania and I think that they will get many points but are they in the end enough to reach the final? Yet we have not seen how juries from other countries voted for them so maybe they will be suprises but I do not think that they could place better than 18th in the final, if they reach it...
