Jaques Houdek was born in 1981 and he mostly become famous with is endless try to reach Eurovision. All in all he tried more then 5 times to be successfull but never got his happy end.
Now the broadcaster choose him by an internal selection to represent Croatia in Kiev in May. But is he able to reach the final and a good place?

The lovely Cristmas song:
The song is all in all very special because it reminds me more on an opera song then on a Eurovision entry. Actually his voice is represented very well because he gets the chance to show the variation of his vocal range.
In addition to this I felt more curious. For me it sounds more like a lovely Christmas song and that is the problem. He tries to fill the song with his power of his voice but he failed.
It only sounds loud and personally I did not like that the Bridge before the last Chorus starts, is missing, more or less (or very powerless).
I am very sad because I see the parallels between Croatia 2017 and Belgium 2014 because the way of the final song is very similar.

The conclusion:
Firstly I have to mention that I am very disappointed about the Croatian entry this year and that is not because of him. Last year there was a relly strong song with Lighthouse and behind this one was a standing artist with Nina Kraljic.
Actually the problem is that he does not get the charisma to be able to collect enough points from the viewers and I cannot see this song as a jury favorite.
All in all I think that he will not reach the final and he will finish in a similar way like Axel Hirsoux for Belgium did in 2014.
Both songs sounds really similar and that is why I think it is easy to judge about it. Anyway, I wish all of the contestants the best of luck! Croatia too!!!
