My turn - Is it Martina's turn into the Final?
This year's "Queen of Jazz":
After the big success of Gabriela Guncikova last year (1st time final qualification), another woman get the honor to represent the Czech Republic at Eurovision.
The Jazz musician Martina Bárta was internally announced by Ceska televize, the national broadcaster, to represent the country with the song My turn.
Her entry is performed in a Jazz style and about the theme that you should never give up because sometimes it is your time. But is the music as good as the slogan?

Calm and emotional:
Jazz is a very special direction to make music and it is not everyones cup of tea but if you like the calm and harmonious notes, you will like the Czech entry too!
From the very first time the piano is the basic of the whole production and personally I love it because the text and her voice is perfect.
The whole song develops into a lovely ballad which is different in comparison to the others because it gets its own charme and you feel every line and what she is singing about.
Especially the Bridge is very interesting because I can imagine that she will stand alone in a circle of light in this moment but otherwise if you do not like Jazz it might become boring very fast. A walk on the razor's edge!

The conclusion:
Well, we have got so many ballads this year but, apart from Finland, I react very emotional when I listened to bthe song for the first time.It felt like I knew her for so many years and I knew the story behind the song. Furthermore her voice sounds so warm-hearted that I only could smile, close my eyes and go this step into the world which her song creates.
I would not like to finish without saying something about her chances to qualify.
I think that the Czech Republic will get a lot of votes from the juries, especiall Jazz lovers' will love it and might rank it on first position or something else which is really well!
Anyway, the only problem is the presentation because she must grab the moment and she has to sing more emotional than she ever had and well, finally, then it is possible to reach the final. Only her (or two dancers) in the shine of a lonely light... good luck Czech Republic <3
