Verona - The duet of the eternally second
Eurovision seasoned veterans withou a second chance:
The Eesti Laul is the most traditional preselection in the year. Not because of an old-fashioned show, no, the songs have to be written by Estonian songwriters which should push the national music industry.
This years' winner were Laura, who finished second several times in the past (e.g. last year), and Kooit Toome, who became 12th at Eurovision back in 1998.
They won against well-known artists like Kerli or Elina Born but did they win because of their popularity at home or because their song?
The song is predictably structures and you feel that you always know what will happen.
Personally I like the quality of the song at all because all in all the focus should lie on their voices, should... Well, the harmony on the other hand is really....oha
What I like too is the "Past-Chorus" after the second Chorus because this is the only moment where you are impressed by the song and the presentation but this is not enough to feel the song because, for me, the whole Chorus and their vocal range is really annoying!

Like a German "Schlager":
First of all I would like to say that everyone who wants that Helene Fischer should participate for Germany will love this song.The song is predictably structures and you feel that you always know what will happen.

Personally I would like to add that I was a big fan of Elina Born's song and of course I did not like Verona as much as other songs.
There were many good other songs like Kerli's Spirit Animal or Slingshot but in the end we have to live with this decision.
The song gets typical structures of an Eurovision entry. I think it is a borderline song which means that they have to hope and fight for reaching the final and at these moment I would not like to say anything else on that because the song does not give more material to talk about it.
The only thing I can definitly say is that the song will place better than last year but they have to collect the songs from the juries because for the viewers it might be to flat!
